What Nodori knows about you.

Nodori is a peer-to-peer video calling app for macOS made by Sevenshores Software Ltd. It has no accounts and we run no servers for it, so there is almost nothing of yours for us to hold. This page says exactly what the app and this website handle, and why.

The short version

The app

Calls

A call is a direct connection between your Mac and the other person's Mac. Audio, video, screen sharing and drawings are always end-to-end encrypted, and only the two Macs hold the keys. We run no servers for calls, so your call content never passes through anything we operate.

Finding each other

Nodori finds your teammates through your Tailscale network. It uses the machine names, display names and network addresses your tailnet already knows for other Nodori users to show the roster and to place calls. This information comes from your own tailnet and stays between its members. Other Nodori users on your tailnet can see your display name, your machine name and your availability (online, busy, away or in a call).

To set up a call, the two Macs share their network addresses with each other over your tailnet, and with no one else. Nodori asks no outside server for your address.

Captions and transcripts

When you turn on captions or save a transcript, the other person's audio is turned into text on your Mac as it arrives. No audio is saved and none is sent to us. A transcript is a Markdown file written to a folder you choose on your Mac, and it is yours to keep or delete. The first use may download a speech model from Apple.

Permissions

Nodori asks macOS for access to your camera, microphone and screen recording for calls and screen sharing, and for your Focus status so a Focus can show you as busy to your team. Each is used only for that feature and only while you use it. You can withdraw any of them in System Settings.

Diagnostic logs

Nodori writes a log on your Mac with the app's events, call timing, connection details and machine names. It never contains audio, video or what was said. The log stays on your Mac unless you choose to send it to us when reporting a problem, in which case we use it only to investigate that problem.

TestFlight

During the beta, Nodori is distributed through Apple's TestFlight. Apple may share crash reports and feedback you choose to send with us, under Apple's TestFlight terms. We use them to fix bugs.

This website

Analytics

nodori.app uses Plausible, hosted by us, to count visits. It sets no cookies, collects no personal data and does not track you across sites. We see aggregate numbers such as page views and which page a visitor arrived from.

The invite form

If you ask for an invite, we receive your email address and, if you fill them in, your team size and whether you use Tailscale. The form is delivered by Sendfly, which passes the submission to us. We use it to send your invite and to contact you about the beta, and for nothing else. We do not sell or share it. Ask us through the support page and we will delete it.

Hosting

The site is served by GitHub Pages, which may log the IP addresses of requests as part of operating the service.

Your rights

You can ask what information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or withdraw consent, through the support page. For the app, the answer will almost always be that we hold nothing; for the website, it will be your invite request. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you also have the right to complain to your data protection authority.

Children

Nodori is a tool for work teams and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will appear here with a new date. If a change affects what the app does with your information, the app's release notes will say so.
